We’re very excited to share what we’re building. MarkIt has been our sole focus for the last 5 months - not just writing the code, but in obsession with the problem. We aren’t chasing hype - committing to MarkIt was an easy decision and one that felt very right.

Through this memo, we hope to give you a clear window into our brains, our ambition, and why we believe Markit can be an industry-defining company. Thank you for your attention and time.

Why Us?

We’ll win because we’ve experienced this problem firsthand—working inside the systems that make trade compliance slow, manual, and error-prone.

• Chan Kim is a Georgia Tech student that comes from deep automotive experience, such as Operations @ Michelin, AfterSales Supply Chain @ Porsche, and most notably Tesla’s Global Trade Team, where he saw firsthand how OEMs, brokers, and suppliers waste time reconciling data and compliance records. This conveniently / inconveniently took place during the beginning of the new administration, where multiple tariffs were put into place.
• Roland Saavedra is a double major in Computer Science & Math from Georgia Tech. He first started coding at 7 years old, and has spent years building various projects. Infra @ Google Cloud, Game Engines @ Roblox, and FinTech @ Plaid.
